Are online lessons pre-recorded?
No! Each lesson is live, and normally takes place over Google Meet. All you need is a phone, tablet or computer with an internet connection, as well as your musical instrument.
Who should book online lessons?
Online learning is perfect for cases of illness, poor weather conditions or social unrest. It is also great for adult learners, as lessons can easily be scheduled into their busy lives, with no time lost in travelling.
For best results, we recommend supplementing online learning with an in-person lesson at least once a month.
For how long has MG Music School been offering online learning?

When the COVID-19 state of emergency was announced in March 2020, MG Music School had already started offering online lessons. With the closure of the schools, we immediately arranged for weekly online concerts, to encourage our students and give them something to look forward to.
Months later, during the National Lockdown, these free concerts became the focal point of their lives, keeping them connected with their peers and inspired to continue their musical progress. MG Music School also organised online music festivals, both locally and nationally, taking the lead as all other external activities ground to a halt. As a result, there was no interruption to our education programme at all.
Is online learning still relevant, even though the pandemic has passed?
Absolutely, online learning will always be a part of our lives now. However, children do benefit the most from in-person lessons, especially when it comes to technique and interpretation. Online learning in the long-term (except where circumstances do not permit otherwise) is not recommended for children.

MG Music School remains fully equipped to switch to online lessons at any time, so should you fall ill, you just contact your teacher and enjoy your lesson from home for that week.
